Nangloi record big victory

New Delhi, November 3
Government Boys Senior Secondary School, Nangloi beat Fr. Angel High School, Pilar (Goa) 6-0, after leading by 2-0 at the interval, in the 20th Nehru Sub Junior Hockey Tournament at the Shivaji Stadium on Sunday.

Sandeep and Satish scored a brace each while Vijay Pal and Praveen hit home one goal each.

H K Senior Secondary School, Kurer (Sonepat) downed Don Bosco High School, Gujarat 7-2. Dharmender scored four goals for the winners. Arun Antil and Pawan Antil (2) were the other marksmen. For Gujarat, Rajesh and Kalpesh were the goal-getters.

Government Model Higher Secondary School, Sector 42, Chandigarh beat Guru Harkrishnan Public School, Shahdara 3-2. Baljinder Singh, Dharamvir Singh and Harmanpreet Singh were the goal-scorers of Chandigarh. Ravi Dharma and Harpreet Singh got the goals for Shahdara.

Zoltang High School, Aizwal (Mizoram) beat Government Inter-College, Narender Nagar (Uttaranchanl) 3-0. Khawpuimawia and Lallmingmawia (2) were the scorers.

Jindal and Steel win

Jindal Power and Steel beat South Delhi by eight goals to four and a half to win the Pizza Hut Baroda Cup (two-goal) Polo Tournament played at the Jaipur Polo ground. Sangram Singh Gaekwad gave away the prizes.

In an exhibition match, The Italians beat The Stuffed Crusts by eight goals to three.

Hindustan, Moonlight move up

New Delhi, November 3
Hindustan Club and Moonlight entered the pre-quarter-finals of the first Lt. Governor’s Cup Prize Money Football Tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium on Sunday. Moonlight outclassed Delhi Police 4-0 while Hindustan prevailed over New Delhi Heroes 2-0.

Moonlight moved ahead when mid-fielder Dharminder found the mark in the 20th minute.

Lalit Rawat made it 2-0 while Vikram Bhandari struck home a brace to complete the tally.

Striker Sameer Jung scored Hindustan’s first goal while Satnam Singh got the second goal.

Monday’s fixtures: Garhwal Heroes vs Simla Youngs (12.45 pm); Moghuls vs Shahdara (2.45 pm)—Ambedkar Stadium.
