Saran appointed Nepal envoy
New Delhi, October 4
Mr Shyam Saran, currently India’s Ambassador to Indonesia, has been appointed as the country’s next Ambassador to Nepal in succession to Dr I. P. Singh, who died recently, it was announced here today. An External Affairs Ministry statement said Mr Saran would take up his new assignment shortly. Meanwhile, Mr Jyoti Swarup Pande, Joint Secretary in the External Affairs Ministry, has been appointed as Ambassador of India to Azerbaijan, succeeding Mr Dinkar Khullar. UNI
