Akshardham: ATS takes over probe
Ahmedabad, October 2
The probe into the terrorist attack on the Akshardham temple has been entrusted to the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of the Gandhinagar police. Considering the gravity of the incident and its ramifications, state Director General of Police K. Chakravarthy took the decision to hand over the investigation to ATS, the police said.

Manisha Koirala hurt
Mumbai, October 2
Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala today sustained leg injuries after she fell from a horse-carriage during the shooting of a film here. “Manisha was admitted to Lilavati Hospital around 4.15 p.m. and a team of doctors is attending on her”, sources at the hospital told PTI. The actress was shooting for “Paisa Vasool” at Chandivali studios in north-western suburb when the mishap occurred, sources said.

Kapildeo Singh, Secretary-General of the Samajwadi Party and a former Bihar minister, died of a cardiac arrest in New Delhi today. He had gone to New Delhi for routine medical check-up and breathed his last at his son’s house there, family sources said here.

A person has been arrested with an AK-56 rifle and its magazine in Unna district of Uttar Pradesh, police sources said today. On a tip-off, Pinkoo was arrested near a primary school in Sohramau police station area yesterday, they said.
