Fresh violence in Vadodara
Vadodara, September 29
The police lobbed tear-gas shells after members of two communities clashed in the sensitive Ladwada area of the city this evening leaving at least two persons, including a state Reserve Police constable, injured. Police sources said the violence broke out after a member of a particular community allegedly spat on a youth belonging to another community. The incident took a violent turn when the members of both communities came out and indulged in heavy brickbatting. The police said glass panes of several houses in the area, which fell under the Wadi police station, were damaged due to stone and bottle throwing. The police soon intervened and brought the situation under control after a mild lathi charge and bursting of tear-gas shells.
