PNB to take on UDM in final

New Delhi, September 4
Punjab National Bank (PNB) will take on Urban Development Ministry in the A Division final of the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) Institutional Football League Championship at the Ambedkar Stadium on Friday.

In the first semi-final played on Wednesday, PNB prevailed over Delhi Administration 1-0. Inside-left Govind Kanojia headed in the match-winner off a cross from Bhupender Thakur in the 45th minute.

In the second semi-final, Urban Development Ministry defeated Reserve Bank of India 2-0. Veteran Ram Singh scored the first goal in the 15th minute. Arvind Rawat added the second goal in the 58th minute.

Nivia Soccer

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school defeated Delhi Public School 1-0 in the Nivia Football Tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium on Wednesday. Rajpal scored the only goal.

In other matches, DDA Football Academy beat Bhawan Sawan 2-0 and Union Academy accounted for Nivia Academy 1-0. Anup Ram scored both the goals for Bhawan Sawan. Abhishek netted Union Academy’s match-winner.

Anubhav Deewan shines in Ramjas’ victory

New Delhi, September 4
Anubhav Deewan played an all-round game (74 and 2 for 23) to help Ramjas Day Boarding defeat Navyug School by 40 runs and entered the semi-final of the first Ramjas Inter-School (Under-17) Cricket Tournament at the Ramjas Sports Complex. Anubhav Deewan was declared the man of the match. Ramjas Day Boarding, opting to bat, made 238 for 8 in 30 overs. In reply, Navyug’s innings was reduced to 15 overs due to rain. They were set a target of 120 runs to win, but folded up all out for 79 runs.

Scores: Ramjas Day Boarding: 238 for 8 in 3 overs (Anubhav Deewan 74, Jagdev Kalsi 31, Yatharth Kumar 2 for 35, Sanjay Kumar 2 for 37). Navyug School: 79 all out in 15 overs (Ankit Gupta 25, Sushil Kumar 2 for 3, Anubhav Deewan 2 for 23, Manish Saini 2 for 6).

Climbing contest

The eighth North India Sports Climbing Competition will be organised by the Ramjas Sports and Mountaineering Institute, West Patel Nagar, from September 27 to 29. The competition will be sponsored by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation. The quarter-final round of the competition will be held at Meera Model School, Janakpuri, and the semi-final and final rounds at the Ramjas Institute.
