Health authorities’ decision decried
Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, August 30
The Punjab Civil Medical Services (PCMS) Association has condemned the decision of the Health authorities to hold an official meeting of the Civil Surgeons and Deputy Medical Commissioners of the state along with their spouses at a picnic spot in Ropar district on September 2 and 3.

Reacting strongly to the decision, Dr Hardip Singh, president, and Dr Ajay Bagga, press secretary of the association, stated that while on the one hand, rural dispensaries were lacking in essential medicines and life-saving equipment, on the other hand, government’s money was being wasted on arranging for the stay of the families of the health functionaries during official meetings and too without taking permission of the Health Minister. They further said that the association failed to understand in what capacity could non-medico spouses attend official meetings.
