Teachers resent J&K poll duty

Ludhiana, August 30
A meeting of the working committee of the Government Primary Teachers Association Ludhiana, under the chairmanship of its president, Mr Baldev Krishan Maudgil, has resented the decision of the State Government for deputing primary school teachers for the J & K Assembly elections. It has demanded that government should withdraw this decision otherwise the association will file a writ petition in the High Court. The association has also sought promotions for teachers due for a year, issuing of balance sheets of the GP Fund as also confirmation of teachers. The meeting condemned the new education policy of the government and demanded that it must be critically analysed.
