Case against Lyngdoh
Valsad, August 12
A local court has ordered investigation against Chief Election Commissioner J.M. Lyngdoh and two Election Commissioners T.S. Krishnamurthi and B.B. Tandon for wrong display of the Tri-colour at a press conference in the commission held on August 2. The probe under Section 202 of Criminal Procedure Code was ordered by the First Class Judicial Magistrate, Valsad, Mr A.T. Kanani. The complainant Arvind Vash had submitted that the Commissioners had displayed the Tri-colour wrongly by putting green colour on top and saffron below. PTI

8 electrocuted in AP
Hyderabad, August 12
Eight pilgrims were electrocuted and 15 injured when the tractor in which they were travelling came into contact with a live wire at Burujupalli in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, today. The police said the pilgrims were on the way to attend the last day of the ‘Gangamma jathra’ in the village. UNI
