Suicide bomber kills 6 Israelis

A Palestinian suicide bomber killed six other persons when he blew himself to pieces in a busy cafeteria at east Jerusalem’s Hebrew University today, the second Kamikaze attack in two days in the city, the police said. Around 60 persons were wounded when the bomber detonated his device in a queue at the cafeteria’s cash desk. Nine of the injured were in a serious condition, the police said. Another 10 were suffering from shock. AFP

Ultras enter mosque
Jammu, July 31
In a major strike, seven militants tonight attacked a high-security residential complex sheltering senior police and civil officials in Rajouri city of Jammu and Kashmir lobbing grenades and firing indiscriminately and exchanged gunfire with security personnel at around 7.45 p.m., official sources said. As the SOG, the Army and the police cordoned the area, the three militants entered a mosque. PTI

Geelani’s remand
New Delhi, July 31
A Delhi court today extended till August 8 the judicial remand of journalist Iftikhar Geelani, son-in-law of senior Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. In her brief order, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sangeeta Dhingra Sehgal said the applications on bail and discharge would be heard the same day. UNI
