Kunal bowls DU to victory

New Delhi, July 9
A devastating bowling spell of 4 for 20 by Kunal Miglani and good batting by Chayan Kokcha (46) helped Delhi University Coaching Centre beat Madan Lal Cricket Academy by 74 runs in a league match of the first C.L. Batra Memorial Under-13 Cricket Tournament at the Delhi University ground.

Scores: Delhi University Coaching Centre: 220 for 6 in 35 overs (Chayan Kokcha 46, Tarun Preet Singh 36, Sunny Miglani 30, Arjun Kumar 3 for 30, Ishan Kumar 2 for 35). Madan Lal Academy: 146 all out in 30.2 overs (Ishan Kumar 31, Kunal Miglani 4 for 20, Nitin Raj 2 for 16, B.P. Singh Chandok 2 for 21).

Gyan Bharti enter semis

New Delhi: An enterprising knock of 85 by Delhi Under-14 player Naman Khanna helped Gyan Bharti South Delhi Cricket Academy beat Hans Raj Academy by two runs to enter the semi-final of the first Gyan Bharti South Delhi Under-13 Cricket Tournament at the Gyan Bharti School ground at Saket in the Capital. Scores: Gyan Bharti South Delhi Cricket Academy: 165 all out in 34.3 overs (Naman Khanna 85, Vijay Pandit 27, Vinod Chugh 3 for 25, Gaurav Gulyani 2 for 18). Hans Raj Academy: 163 for 8 in 35 overs (Vinod Chugh 27, Anmol Sharma 27, Mohit Sharma 20, Suhail Virmani 2 for 18).

Taekwondo championship

Rohtak: The trial for selection of Haryana team for participation in the 18th National (Junior and Sub Junior) Taekwondo Championship for Girls and 20th National (Junior and Sub Junior ) Taekwondo Championship for Boys will be held at Vaish Vayayamshalla, near railway station Rohtak on July 14 at 10 a.m. The championship to be organized by Taekwondo Federation of India, is scheduled to be held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium New Delhi from July 26 to 28. Giving this information the secretary of the Haryana State Taekwondo Association, Mr Ajit Kumar, said each candidate appearing in the trial would have to deposit a trial fee of Rs 5.
