New course

A new postgraduate diploma course in international trade in affiliation with Panjab University will be introduced at AS College, Khanna, from this year.

Giving this information, Mr Tarsem Bahia, Principal of the college, said graduates in all streams would be eligible for taking admission in the course. He said the course would be conducted during such a time that even the employed candidates could be accommodated.

He said there would be at least 20 seats for the course, which would also include project work, on-the-job training and practical assignments.

Havan to celebrate good result

To celebrate the achievements of its students in securing cent per cent result in class X examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Springdale Public School organised a havan.

The school also organised Sukhmani Sahib paath. The Mayor, Mr Nahar Singh, who was invited on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the students, staff and Principal, Ms Avinash Kaur Walia, in achieving good results.

PAU conducts entrance test

For the first time, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) conducted an entrance test for admission to masters’ programme in veterinary sciences here today.

Dr V.K. Sharma, Registrar, said 55 candidates appeared for the 38 seats in different departments of the College of Veterinary Sciences. The result of the test would be declared tomorrow on the notice board of Thapar Hall and College of the Veterinary Sciences. Counselling of the successful candidates would be held in the Office of Dean, Postgraduate Studies, on August 3, he added.
