DMCH management flays union
Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, July 1
The management of the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital at an emergency meeting here today condemned the strike of the employees-union. The meeting was presided over by Mr Brij Mohan Munjal, president, DMCH Society.

The management discussed the situation arising out of the ongoing undeclared strike. While criticising the disturbance created by the union, the management of the DMCH expressed its deep concern over the welfare of patients who were suffering due to the striking employees. The members appealed to the employees to end their strike and join their duties to serve the ailing humanity.

The management said that some of the employees were on strike under the influence of certain union leaders despite the fact that they were being paid much more than their counterparts working in other institutes. The management said that it wanted to sort out things in a peaceful manner. For this purpose it had already conveyed a message to union that it should give its demands in writing but nothing had been done so far. Meanwhile, a meeting of the DMCH employees was called today by the Civil Surgeon, Dr J.S. Bhullar, on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner to intervene in the matter. But the union leaders did not turn up to attend the meeting. Dr Bhullar said, "The employees refused to come."
