47 prisoners escape from MP jail
Jhabua (MP), May 29
As many as 47 prisoners escaped from the Jobat sub-jail in this tribal-dominated district in the wee hours today. The prisoners had fled after cutting the grill of the jail ventilator, the police said. Patrolling has been intensified in the area while a massive hunt has been launched to nab them, the police said, adding that a magisterial inquiry had been ordered into the incident. UNI

Jawan kills JCO, self

An Army jawan committed suicide after killing his superior with his service rifle at Kamraniya near the Indo-Pakistan border in Sriganganagar district early today, the police said here. According to a case registered at the Ramsinghpura police station this morning, Jawan Shobhraj Singh of the 19th Mechanised battalion turned his gun on himself after killing Subedar Jaspal Singh. UNI
