But Doda Ganesh struck terror from the word go, claiming the top three wickets, as Shastri struggled at 3 for 29. And then Abdul Qayoom took over, removing the next three important middle order wickets, as Shastri tottered at 6 for 42. Ishan Gandha and Nikhil Chopra polished off the tail with Shastri tumbling all out for a paltry 70 in 21.4 overs. Though Indian Airlines started their reply on a shocking note, when Arun Kumar was dismissed by Joginder for nought, and the next two wickets, that of Ravneet Ricky and Shafiq Khan, also fell cheaply, an unbeaten knock of 31 by Ishan Ganda and 13 not out by R R Paria were sufficient for them to reach the victory target in just 16 overs. Abdul Qayoom was declared the Pepsi Man of the Final while Test discards Nikhil Chopra and Doda Ganesh were adjudged the Man of the Series and Best Bowler respectively. Uniformly good batting by Ratan Rawat, Rahul Ahuja and Sonu Vaid was responsible for Inborn managing to tie the match. Ashish Sharma slams
century as TYCA lift title New Delhi, April 30 Batting first, TYCA amassed 279 for 8 in 35 overs, thanks to the brilliant century of Ashish Sharma, and handsome contributions by Maninder Singh (48) and Kapil Mehta (29). In reply, A R Gymkhana, despite a fine knock of 78 by Manoj Singh, folded up for 243 in 34.1 as they were unable to tackle the devastating bowling of Aman Randev, who scalped four for 47. TYCA received a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and the Raj Kumar Kholi Trophy. Runners-up A R Gymkhana were awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and the Vivek Aggarwal Running Trophy. Udit Sharma of A R Gymkhana was adjudged the best batsman while the best bowler award was given to Sanjeev Tomar, also of A R Gymkhana. Ashish Sharma of TYCA got the best all-rounder of the tournament award, and received a cash award of Rs 1500. Former Youth Congress of India president Maninder Singh Bitta gave away the prizes. New Holland win Corporate Cup New Delhi, April 30 Fox Mandal XI won the toss and opted to bat, but crashed to 160 all out in 29.5 overs with S Y Siddiqui producing a devastating spell of 4 for 10. New Holland raced to victory with Adil and Vijay Mishra knocking up the required runs. New Holland made 161 for two off 24.1 overs to seal a facile victory.
