Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, April 3
For eradication of polio in the country, the Health Department started its five-day mop-up operation against polio today.

Dr Rajinder Kaur, Civil Surgeon, in a statement said that the district had been divided into sectors and sub-sectors. As many as 1,160 teams with two vaccinators each would visit door to door for spreading awareness about the polio vaccination. “This is basically an awareness drive. This time we have not arranged the booths in which people come and administer polio drops to their children. We have trained the volunteers, who will visit door to door to spread the message against polio. The department has even identified the streets and has been working for the past two months to make this programme successful,” said Dr Rajinder Kaur.
