Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in west Rajasthan and changed a little elsewhere. Departures: They were above normal in Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 5.7°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 2, 2002: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 2, 2002: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundery development in some areas towards evening/night. Slight rise in maximum and minimum temperatures and will be around 27°C and 13°C respectively.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of March 2, 2002: Development of thunderclouds is likely at a few places.
