Seminar stresses need for clear-cut goals

Manesar (Gurgaon), February 25
The Chairman of the Board of Governors of Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF), Dr Ashok K. Chauhan urged the students, aspiring to be corporate managers of future, to have “self belief” and clear-cut goals.

RBEF is the umbrella body of 32 Amity institutions, including the Amity Business School and the Amity International school locate here.

Dr Chauhan made his observations while addressing a gathering during the ‘Amity Corporate Meet’, ‘Parichy – 2002’ organised at the Amity Education Valley here today. Executives from both Public Sector Units (PSUs) and private sectors took part in the seminar “Winning Organisations in the Downturn”.

Dr Chauhan stressed upon the view that no individual can achieve his goal if he does not make efforts to stand out and distinguish his individuality from others. Each individual has inherent strength. He should spot it and build upon it to prepare for the future challenges.

Compulsory education plan drawn

New Delhi, February 25
The Government of NCT of Delhi has constituted a committee comprising representatives of non-governmental organisations and academics to draw up a plan for providing compulsory elementary education to children.

The Cabinet that met under the leadership of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday also okayed the creation of 33 new posts in the Department of Labour. The new posts created are of Deputy Labour Commissioner (5), Assistant Labour Commissioner (3), Labour Officer (5), Inspcting Officer (6) and Server (7). Accordingly, the number of posts in the Department has risen to 89. According to Labour Minister Deep Chand Bandhu, the government would incur an additional expenditure of Rs 42 lakh per annum on account of the same. The Cabinet also discussed the Language Bill conferring second language status to Urdu and Punjabi after the Centre returned it after raising a query. The matter, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said, had been referred to the Law Department for suitable advice.
