Everything is lovely at Talkatora Gardens

Gardening enthusiasts and plant lovers in the Capital are having a real treat this weekend at the 15th Garden Tourism Festival organised at the sprawling Talkatora Gardens by the DTTDC here.

The festival offers a delightful kaleidoscope of countless varieties of flowers, plants and shrubs in full spring bloom. Talkatora Gardens, the venue of the festival, was thronged by thousands of visitors throughout the day today.

The festival has an attractive display of flowers and potted plants, home plants, roses, Dahlia and bonsai under one roof. The second day of the festival saw a spot painting competition by children, who painted the nature in different colours.

The winners of the painting competition would be given prizes on the concluding day.

A performance by schoolchildren’s theatre society of the Shiv Niketan School was the highlight of the second day.

The half-an-hour play titled “Swatantrata Sangram Ki Deep Shikha - Jhansi Ki Rani” held the spectators spellbound. The play got a overwhelming adulation from the spectators.

A magic show and cultural programmes were other main attractions of the day.

The festival boasts of a food court serving delicacies from Lebanon to Rajasthan, Orissa and Gujarat.

The festival will remain open for public from 11.00 am to 8.00 pm on Sunday too. The entrance fee is Rs 10 per person.
