Punjab wins first prize in classical music at PNB meet

New Delhi, February 22
Competitions in various categories like group song, light music vocal and classical vocal were held on the second and third day of the ongoing 19th All India Punjab National Bank Inter Zone Cultural Meet which started on February 20.

The first prize in classical vocal category went to Ramesh Bhagat of Punjab, while Parvati Ayyar of Delhi and Amiya Moitra of Eastern zone bagged second and third prizes, respectively.

In the group song competition, the Rajasthan zone bagged the first place, while Uttar Pradesh Central and Madhya Pardesh zone secured second and third places, respectively.

In the light music vocal, N. C. Vani of South zone came first while the second and third places went to J. K. Mishra of Uttar Pradesh West zone and Sita Ram of North zone, respectively.

In rare and innovative instrument category, P. K. Saxena of Central Uttar Pradesh bagged the first while Davinder Patti of Punjab and Bikash Roy of Eastern zone won the second and third prizes, respectively.
