35 killed, 60 hurt in 2 mishaps
Beijing, February 17
At least 35 persons were killed, while 60 others were injured in two separate bus accidents in China during the past 24 hours, an official report said today. In the latest accident, a bus plunged nearly 300 metres off a road in south China’s Hunan province today, killing 25 passengers are leaving 12 others injured. Yesterday, at least 10 persons were killed on the spot and 48 injured in a road accident in Chongging, a southwest municipality. The accident occurred when a bus carrying 50 persons overturned and fell off a high slope.

Pak airbus for Afghan pilgrims
Islamabad, February 17
Pakistan today sent an airbus from the fleet of state-owned Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to Kabul, bringing a fresh ray of hope to Afghan Haj pilgrims stranded at the international airport there. The plane, which became the first PIA flight to have landed in the Afghan capital in 21 years, was provided following a telephonic request from the Chairman of the Afghan interim government, Mr Hamid Karzai, to Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, official sources here said.
