Cold wave conditions continue to prevail in parts of Punjab. They have abated in Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan.

Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in Jammu and Kashmir and changed a little elsewhere. Departures: They were below normal in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 1.4°C recorded at Adampur (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of February 3, 2002: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of February 3, 2002: Mainly clear sky. Mist in the morning. Minimum temperature will be around 7°C.
