Himachal, J & K New Delhi, January 21 Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, fell in Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were below normal in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Rajasthan, above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 1.2°C recorded at Pilani (Rajasthan). Forecast valid until the morning of January 23: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region. Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 23: Sunny day, clear sky. Mist/fog in the morning. Cold wave conditions to prevail. |
Ludhiana coldest in plains at 3.5° C Chandigarh, January 21 The city had a high of 18.8° C and a low of 7.0° C, a weather bureau official said here. Ambala had a maximum at 19.0° C and the low was recorded at 7.1° C. Hisar was also close with a high of 18.8° C and a low of 6.0° C. In Punjab, Ludhiana was the coldest with the low dropping three degrees below normal to record 3.5° C. The high was recorded at 18.8 c. Amritsar and patiala also recorded similar temperatures. These places recorded maximums of 18.6° C and 18.7° C, respectively and the lows were at 4.0° C each.
