Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) recorded 2cm of rainfall.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours’ change: Minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana and east Rajasthan, fell in Punjab, west Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were markedly above normal in east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 2.5°C recorded at Pilani (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 21, 2002: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 21, 2002: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundery development in some areas. Fog in the morning. Minimum temperature will be around normal of 7°C.
