Workshop on preventable blindness

There are about 200 million visually impaired persons (VIPs) in the world out of which one-third live in South-East Asia, mostly below the poverty line. This was disclosed by Dr R.S. Maheshwari, Director, Lifeline Hospital, at the inauguration of a two-day workshop on “Preventable blindness” and contact lens training programme jointly organised by Baush and Lomb and the Charity Medical Trust here yesterday.
