Enron chief meets FM
New Delhi, July 10
Chairman of US energy giant Enron Corporation Kenneth Lay today held an hour-long meeting with Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha at his North Block office. Official sources said the Enron chief was keen on finding a permanent solution to the payment crisis issue, plaguing the energy major’s Indian outfit — Dhabol Power Company . Last night, Mr Lay held a marathon two-hour meeting with Power Minister Suresh Prabhu, aimed at resolving the company’s ongoing payment dispute with the MSEB. UNI

Chandrika prorogues Parliament
Colombo, July 10
In a sudden decision, Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga tonight prorogued Parliament till September 7 and called for a referendum next month to decide whether the country needs a new Constitution. PTI
