Ex-minister, 14 more chargesheeted
Mumbai, June 2 
The Special Task Force (STP) appointed by the Maharashtra Government today filed a charge sheet against senior Shiv Sena leader and former Minister of State for Home Gajanan Kirtikar and 14 others for their alleged involvement in the 1992-93 riots. The STF has been formed to implement the recommendations of the Justice Srikrishna Committee report on the post-Ayodhya riots in Mumbai. Maharashtra Minister of State for Home (Urban) Kripashankar Singh said Mr Kirtikar and others were charged under Sections 188, 153, 506 (II) and 34 of the IPC. Mr Kirtikar is the sitting MLA from Malad constituency. The action comes on the heels of the STF filing a first information report against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Ram Deo Tyagi for his alleged role in the Suleman Bakery firing. Others who were chargesheeted included slain Shiv Sena MLC Ramesh More, local Shiv Sena leaders Nandkumar Kale, Raghunath Kadam and others. UNI

8 hurt in firing
Jehanabad (Bihar), June 2
Eight persons, including two shopkeepers, were wounded in bomb blasts and indiscriminate firing by extortionists in the main market here today, the police said. PTI
