in region New Delhi, May 29 Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell
appreciably in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, fell in Jammu and
Kashmir and Uttaranchal, rose in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little
elsewhere.
Departures: They were markedly below normal in Haryana and
Punjab, appreciably below normal in Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar
Pradesh and Uttaranchal, below normal in east Rajasthan and east Uttar
Pradesh, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in west
Rajasthan. The highest temperature in the region was 43°C recorded at
Suratgarh (Rajasthan).
Forecast valid until the morning of May 31: Rain or
thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and
Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and
Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Rajasthan. Thundersqualls are
likely at isolated places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar
Pradesh and Uttaranchal.
Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of
May 31: Partly cloudy sky with one or two showers/thundershowers
in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 37°C.
