80 students receive prizes

Ludhiana, May 29
Students of primary and middle sections of Kundan Vidya Mandir, city branch, received prizes for their yearly performance on the second day of the annual function held here today.

Nearly 80 students of the school received prizes. Urvashi of Class VIII and Neha Katyal of Class V received the prize for being all round best students in the middle and primary sections, respectively.

A cultural programme was also organised which began with “Saraswati Vandana”. An action song, “Give me a song to sing”, was presented by the tiny tots of the school. Pavik Rawal danced on the number, “Mein jagoon saari raat”. Ridhi Sharma of Class I gave a solo performance on the number, “Chhama chhama”. A duet was presented by the students on the Punjabi number, “Teri meri gal ban gayee”. “Sheikh Chili”, a Hindi action song, was presented by the students of middle section. Bhojpuri dance was also performed by the students.

Eight students participated in the fancy dress contest in which the primary section students were dressed up like caterpillar, penguin, turnip, Red Label tea and Colgate toothpaste. The chief guest on the occasion was Mr Pramod Ban, SP II, city. Ms N. Mannan, headmistress, read the annual report. Ms I. Kumar, principal, was present on the occasion.

Students get prizes at annual function

Ludhiana, May 29
Students of the Sanatan Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Civil Lines, received prizes for their performance in academics, sports and cultural activities at an annual prize distribution function held here today.

Dinesh of Class VII and Ishan of Class IV received first prize in poetical recitation in middle and primary sections, respectively. Sarabjeet of Class IX and Neha Arora of Class VIII got first prize in calligraphy.

A cultural programme was also held which began with Saraswati Vandana. The performance of senior section girls in Rajasthani dance received much applause. The programme concluded with bhangra performed by the middle section students of the school.

Mr Gurcharan S. Galib, MP, was the chief guest. Ms Sadhna Sharma, Principal, read the annual report.
