BSF men tortured, then shot dead
Last rites of mutilated bodies performed
Tura (Meghalaya), April 21
The last rites of the 15 BSF personnel, tortured and killed by the Bangladesh Rifles on the Assam-Bangladesh border, were performed today with gun salute.

Convenes high-level meeting today
New Delhi, April 21
Taking a grim view of the mutilation of bodies of 16 BSF personnel, the Prime Minister today asked the External Affairs Ministry to take up the issue and lodge a ‘serious’ protest with the Bangladesh Government after ascertaining full facts.

Consensus eludes APHC on talks offer
Srinagar, April 21
The Hurriyat Conference working committee today deliberated the Centre’s offer for holding talks with all groups in Jammu and Kashmir over the vexed Kashmir issue but apparently failed to arrive at any consensus and the matter would further be discussed by its general council next week.

Sarpanch, jawan among 7 killed in valley
Srinagar, April 21
A newly elected Sarpanch and a security force jawan were among seven persons killed while security forces seized rockets, RDX and grenades in Jammu and Kashmir during the past 24 hours.
