9 MLAs suspended from session

Nine BJP members were today suspended from the Maharashtra Assembly for the rest of the Budget session for obstructing the presentation of the 2001-2002 Budget. The motion for the suspension was moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rohidas Patil and passed by a voice vote. UNI

Pak arrests 38 Indian fishermen

Pakistan today arrested 38 Indian fishermen for allegedly straying into its waters in the Arabian Sea, officials said. “We have arrested 38 Indian fishermen for illegal fishing in our territorial waters,” Maritime Security Agency (MSA) Director of Operations Tariq Majeed said. AFP
