15 hurt in lathicharge
Pune, March 25
Fifteen persons were injured when the police resorted to a lathi charge to disperse members of the BJP and the NCP who indulged in stone-pelting at the venue of a function attended by RSS chief K. Sudershan here today. The police said trouble erupted on the premises of the Bal Gandharva auditorium, where Mr Sudershan was releasing a special book on Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. PTI

3 jawans killed
Tezpur (Assam), March 25
At least three CRPF jawans, including an Assistant Commandant, were killed and three injured when their vehicle met with an accident on NH 37 (A) near Gotlang under the Tezpur police station here last night. UNI

Shop owner axed to death
Dehra Dun, March 25
A sweets shop owner was axed to death allegedly by his servant Mohan here on Sunday. According to police sources, the victim, Mahaveer, was a resident of Idgah Colony. Mohan ran away from the spot after the crime. A case has been registered against him under Section 302 of the IPC. TNS
