A light drizzle in the city and its surrounding areas led to a pleasant evening today. Several city residents thronged the Sukhna Lake for a walk. The Met Department recorded 0.5 mm of rainfall.

The cloud cover and the rain had resulted from western disturbances over Jammu and Kashmir and its neighbouring areas. Despite the rain the maximum day temperature was recorded at 30° C, which was 3 degrees above normal.Top

Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Punjab and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were largely above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly above normal in west Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and east Rajasthan, above normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, rose in Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were markedly above normal in east Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Rajasthan, below normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 13°C recorded at Lucknow AP (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of 15th: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in north Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region. Thundersqualls/hailstorms are likely at isolated places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

Heavy Rainfall warning: Heavy rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of 15th: Partly cloudy sky with light rain/thundershowers in some areas towards evening/night. Fall in maximum and minimum temperatures and will be around 30 degree Celcius and 15 degree Celcius respectively.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi: Forecast valid until the morning of 15th: Light rain will occur at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Mainly dry weather.
