PGI Academic Committee to meet

CHANDIGARH, March 1 — In an important Academic Committee meeting of the institute to be held under the chairmanship of Prof I.C. Pathak, former Director, PGI, here tomorrow, posts to be created for the second phase of the Advanced Paediatric Centre and other departments will be discussed.

The other members of the committee include Prof P.K. Dave, Director, AIIMS, New Delhi, Prof S.K. Sharma, Director PGI, Prof K.N. Pathak, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Prof Subbarao, Nizam Institute, Hyderabad, Prof Mukherjee from Kolkata and some senior professors from the PGI.

Anupinder wins medal round

CHANDIGARH, March 1 — Anupinder Grewal was declared winner of the monthly medal round of the Chandigarh Golf Club while Vikram Singh was declared runner-up. Both had returned cards of 80, but Anupinder Grewal was declared winner on the basis of a better score on the back nine.

G.S. Narang was declared net winner in the below-50 age group while Atul Sood was placed second in the same category. Both had returned a similar card of 71, but Narang was declared winner on the basis of a better back nine.

In the 50 to 65 age group Col Harkirat Singh, with a card of 67, was declared winner while Dr G.S. Kochhar finished second. In the above-65 age group Lieut-Gen K.S. Gill was declared winner while Brig S.S. Chaudhari finished second.
