Annual sport meet

LUDHIANA, Feb 22 — Prabhjot Kaur won four gold and one bronze medal on the first day of the annual sport meet held at the Government College for Women today. Student of B.Sc. II, Prabhjot, won gold medal in 100m, 400m, 800m, 1500m races, and bronze medal in high jump event. The meet was inaugurated by Dr Wilhelm Nestle, a well known laproscopic surgeon, from Germany.

The results are — 100m: Prabhjot Kaur 1, Ramneet Kaur 2, Sabina 3; 400m: Prabhjot Kaur 1, Manpreet Kaur 2, Jagjit Kaur 3; 800m: Prabhjot Kaur 1, Kiranjit Kaur 2, Manpreet Kaur 3; 1500m: Prabhjot Kaur 1, Gurpreet Kaur 2, Sukhpreet Kaur 3. shotput: Manpreet Kaur 1, Sumeet 2, Baljit Kaur 3; long jump: Ramanpreet Kaur 1, Manpreet Kaur 2, Amandeep Kaur 3; high jump: Manpreet Kaur 1, Rupinder Kaur 2, Prabhjot Kaur 3; chati race: Neena Kumari 1, Balwinder Kaur 2, Kiran 3; slow Cycling: Vandana 1, Yasha 2, Kiran 3; potato race: Harjit Kaur 1, Sukhpreet Kaur 2, Jagjit Kaur 3.Back

 

Sport festival begins

LUDHIANA, Feb 22 — The Kartar Singh Dukki and Babu Joginder Singh Memorial Annual Lathala Sport Festival began here on Thursday. The festival was inaugurated by Mr Jaspal Khangura. Others who were present on the occasion included Mr Gurdev Lapra, Secerataty, Punjab unit of the Congress, Mr Manmohan Singh Nangal, Mr Raj Singh Jand and Mr Parminder Singh Khangura.Back
