in rural sports PANCHKULA Mr S.K. Monga distributed prizes among winners. He said the rural sports
strengthened mutual friendship. In the circle Kabaddi: Barwala defeated Pinjore and bagged the first position, while Pinjore beat Raipur Rani in national kabaddi (men). In national kabaddi (women), Barwala defeated Pinjore. The results of other matches are : Race 800m (men):

Dalwinder (Pinjore), 1, Sanju (Barwala), 2 and Gopal (Raipur Rani), 3; 200m (women): Mamta and Pooja (both from Barwala) stood first and second, respectively, while Mandip of Pinjore bagged the third position. 200m (men):
Prem Singh and Dalwinder Singh of Pinjore were adjudged first and second, respectively, while Sanju of Barwala remained third. Shot put (men): Gurnam (Pinjore) 1; Kanwaljit Singh (Barwala) 2; and Rajbir Singh (Raipur Rani) 3. (Women):
Bina (Barwala) 1; Rajani Devi 2; and Brig Bala 3; (both of Pinjore). Long jump (men): Dalwinder (Pinjore) 1; Gopal (Raipur Rani) 2; and Sanju (Barwala) 3. (Women): Mamta and Pooja of Barwala stood first and second while Rajni Devi of Pinjore was declared third. Discus through: Kanwaljit and Harvinder Singh (both from Barwala) stood first and second while Ravinder Kumar of Raipur Rani was declared third. High jump (men): Kiran Kumar (Raipur Rani) 1; Viney Kumar (Barwala) and Hardeep Kumar (Pinjore) bagged the second prize. Wrestling (54 kg): Jalandhar (Morni) 1; and Rahul (Pinjore) 2; 58 kg: Rambir from Barwala and Vinod from Raipur Rani were adjudged the first and second.
CHANDIGARH The Kelvinator XI managed to pull a nine-wicket victory over the IE Cricket Club in a match played here today at Sector 16 cricket stadium. Charanpreet Singh and Harminder Singh scored unbeaten 56 and 47 runs, respectively. Charanpreet was declared man of the match. The following were adjudged the best in different sections: batsman — Tamil; bowler — Surinder Singh; wicket-keeper — Darpan; fielder — Vinod Khanna. Mr Neeraj Sethi, Regional Manager of Samsung, gave away the prizes. Brief scores: IESC — 138 for seven in 25 overs (Tamil 63, Gautam 41, Jaipal 24, Surinder 3 for 13, Harminder 2 for 14) Kelvinator XI: 142 for one in 15.2 overs (Charanpreet Singh 56 n.o., Harminder 47 (retd hurt). |
