NEW DELHI, Feb 14Cold wave conditions have abated in Punjab.

Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhang and Jogindernagar 1 each and Jammu and Kashmir: Pahalgam and Quazigund 1 each. Snowfall report (cms): Himachal Pradesh: Dhundi 36, Patsio 15, Solang Nala 4 and Kalpa 3.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal, rose in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 5.6° C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of 16th: Rain or snow will occur at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at many places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and isolated places in west Rajasthan. Isolated thundersqualls/hailstorms are likely in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of 16th: Generally cloudy sky with one or two thundershowers/thunderstorms. Strong cold winds likely to commence from tomorrow evening. No significant change in minimum temperature.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi: Forecast valid until the morning of 16th: Thunderstorm with moderate to rather heavy rain will occur at many places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Decrease in rainfall.
