Judicial probe into mine tragedy
NEW DELHI, FEB 9 — The government today announced a judicial inquiry into the Bagdigi mine tragedy, even as rescue teams were fishing out bodies of miners with little chance of finding any survivors. The new Minister of State for Coal, Mr Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, said: “No one found responsible for the accident will be spared.” He also announced a hike in the compensation to families of the deceased, including an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh. — PTI
