45 miners trapped
DHANBAD, Feb 2 (UNI) — At least 45 miners were trapped in Bagidari coalmines of the Bharat Coal and Coking Limited under the Lodra police station area of Dhanbad district today. Deputy Commissioner Vindo Kiskota and SP Abdul Ghani Mir said here that the miners were trapped after water suddenly entered the mines.

RANCHI, Feb 2 (UNI) — At least five persons were killed and as many injured when the police opened fire to quell a violent mob which set fire to a police outpost at Tapkara in Gumla district in Jharkhand today. The police resorted to firing when the mob set ablaze the outpost and three government vehicles.
