Minimum temp falls in HP, J&K
NEW DELHI, Jan 23 — Cold wave conditions are prevailing in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal. They are likely to extend into Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh during next two days.

  • The maximum temperature on Tuesday was 18.8°C (65.8°F) and the minimum 6.6°C (43.9°F).
    The maximum relative humidity was 90 per cent and the minimum 30 per cent.

NEW DELHI, Jan 23 — Cold wave conditions are prevailing in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal. They are likely to extend into Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh during next two days.

Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at most places in Jammu and Kashmir, at many places in Himachal Pradesh and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Light rain has occurred at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Jogindernagar 4, Bhuntar, Gohar, Mandi and Shimla 2 each and Kumarsain, Kasol, Nagrota Surian, Pandoh, Rampur Bushar, Sunibhajji and Sundernagar 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Pahalgam and Srinagar 2 each and Jammu 1 and Uttaranchal: Dehra Dun 2, Snowfall report (cm): Himachal Pradesh: Dhundi 79, Kotkhai 53, Solang Nala 51, Bhang 48 and Patsio 15.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell appreciably in west Rajasthan, fell in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departures: they were below normal in west Rajasthan and the remaining parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal, above normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 2.1°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of 25th: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi & neighbourhood valid until the morning 25th: Hazy sky. Mist/fog in the morning. Strong chilly winds during day time. Fall in minimum temperature and will be around 5°C.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi: Forecast valid until the morning of 25th: Sky will be mainly clear.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
