Severe cold wave in Chandigarh
NEW DELHI, Jan 11 — Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are prevailing in Chandigarh and in parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh. Cold wave conditions continue to prevail in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and have extended into parts of Haryana. They are likely to abate during the next two days.

  • The maximum temperature on Thursday was 12°C (53.6°F) and the minimum 1°C (33.8°F).
    The maximum relative humidity was 100 per cent and the minimum 52 per cent.
  • Sunset: Friday: 5.41
  • Sunrise: Saturday: 7.21
  • OUTLOOK FOR  FRIDAY: Partly cloudy sky. The minimum temperature on Saturday will be around 4°C.

NEW DELHI, Jan 11 — Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are prevailing in Chandigarh and in parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh. Cold wave conditions continue to prevail in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and have extended into parts of Haryana. They are likely to abate during the next two days.

Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were below normal in the remaining parts of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 0.3°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of 13th: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Punjab. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of 13th: Mainly clear sky. Mist/fog in the morning. Slight rise in minimum temperature and will be around 5°C.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi: Forecast valid until the morning of 13th: sky will be mainly clear.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
