Clinton greets Sikhs
WASHINGTON, Nov 9 (PTI) — US President Bill Clinton and first lady and Senator-elect Hillary Rodham Clinton have sent greetings to the Sikh community in the USA on the occasion of the 531st birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. “Though more than 500 years have passed since the birth of Guru Nanak, his life and teachings still hold great power and meaning for humanity in the 21st century,” Mr Clinton said. “This annual Sikh observance reminds all Americans that throughout our history, we have drawn strength from many religious institutions and people of diverse faiths have made important contribution to the life of our nation,” he added.
