Aryan is Grasim Mr International
JODHPUR, Oct 14 (PTI) — India’s Aryan Vaid last night bagged the Grasim Mr International 2000 title. The runners-up title was awarded to Jorge Pascual of Mexico and China’s Xu Chong, respectively. The Grasim International title carried a cash prize of $ 6000 whereas the runners-up won $ 2000 and 1000, respectively. The 10-member jury included cine stars Raveena Tandon and Prabhudeva and chess grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand.
Bhim Singh held
NEW DELHI,
Oct 14 (UNI) —The Panthers Party Chief, Prof Bhim Singh, and 50 other representatives of political parties were arrested after they went on fast in front of the Israeli embassy here in protest against the Israeli “repression” on Palestine. The police removed Prof Singh and others from Aurangzeb Road and took them to the Tughlak Road police station. Over 50 Palestinian students also joined the fast.
Sharad Yadav stable
NEW DELHI, Oct 14 (UNI) — There has been an improvement in the health of Janata Dal (United) President and Civil Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) described his condition as stable. Mr Yadav was admitted to the intensive care unit of AIIMS on October 12 due to unstable angina and hypertension.
Jaswant’s visit put off
NEW DELHI, Oct 14 (UNI) — External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh, who was scheduled to pay a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia from October 17, has indefinitely postponed it, official sources said. No reason was immediately given for the postponement. Train derailment
MORADABAD, Oct 14 (UNI) — Rail traffic on the Meerut-Hapur section in the Northern Railway division was disrupted today following the derailment of four coaches of a passenger train. However, no one was injured in the incident. Official sources said senior Railways officials had reached the spot and efforts were no to clear the track.
