Cricket fans hail Indian victory LUDHIANA, Oct 14 — The sensational 95-run victory of the new-look Indian cricket team over the fancied South Africa last night has undoubtedly warmed cricket lovers' hearts in the city. Analysing the victory, a cricket fan in his late forties observed that it had been made possible because the team played like a well-knit unit. Our batsmen fully exploited the advantage of the batting wicket and where South African bowlers failed. Ishan, a young cricketer in his teens, was particularly full of praise for Yuvraj Singh and Zahid Khan both of whom put in splendid performances. He wondered why another youngster, Reetinder Sodhi, was not being inducted into the team. Attributing the Indian team's victory to their splendid bowling and fielding, Joginder Singh, a cricket fan in his early thirties, feared the victory might go to the team's head as had been experienced before also. |
