Ria, Abraham at dandia function

LUDHIANA, Oct 3 — The cultural kaleidoscope of the city witnessed yet another star attraction today in the form of fresh and charming Ria Sen and Glad Rags supermodel John Abrahm.

The stars were here to participate in a dandia raas. Ria Sen has to her credit the popular Phalguni Pathak music video churi jo khanke. She has been doing a string of stage shows for Sanjay Godha of Expression.

The dusky Bengali beauty is presently doing a course in IT textile designing.

John Abrahm has done a number of Hindi and Punjabi videos, which include Hans Raj Hans’ Jhanjhar and Pankaj Udhas’s Chupke chupke, besides being a hot favourite on the ramp and in the advertisement world. He is currently also featuring in the latest music video of Saabri brothers Rabba Yaar Se Mila De.

He said he was visiting Ludhiana for the first time. I was born and brought up in Mumbai, which has a cosmopolitan culture. Bhangra is very popular there. So, I am here to perform Dandiya so that Punjabis, too, could learn about Maharashtrian and Gujarati culture.

Wadali brothers enthral audience

KHANNA, Oct 3 — Renowned classical singers Puran Chand Wadali and Pyare Lal Wadali mesmerised music-lovers with their songs at a function organised by the Indian People Theatre Association (IPTA) here last night.

The programme started with Rag Darbari and then there was a soulful rendition of the kafi,Salm dard fraqe sajjan de....They kept the audience spellbound with the famous kafi of Bulle Shah, Tun manne ya na manne dildara Assan te tainu rab maneya....

The function was presided over by Dr Sarabjit Singh. Dr Amarbir Singh, chief guest , presented a memento to the singers. Mr Paramjit Singh and Mr Jagdish, the President and the Director of the IPTA, thanked the artistes and the audience for making the function a success.
