LUDHIANA, Sept 15 — Mr J.P. Birdi, the new Inspector-General of Police, Jalandhar zone, today earmarked the solution of bomb blast case in district courts here and the Aman kidnap and murder case of Khanna as top priority of the respective police officials.

Hoardings violate HC directive
LUDHIANA, Sept 15 — While the Punjab and Haryana High court had a few years back directed removal of all advertisement hoardings along the national and state highways, the railway tracks and roads within the municipal limits, yet several such hoarding can still be seen in the city.

Brain behind lottery racket held
LUDHIANA, Sept 15 — It was the lure of making quick money that propelled Virender Kumar into the world of fake lottery racket. He was arrested by the city kotwali police here today as the main accused behind the sale of Shubh Diwali Bumper lottery of the Azad Hind Lotteries company.
