Defence lawyer shot in Mujibur case
DHAKA, Aug 20 (PTI) — Unidentified gunmen today shot dead a defence lawyer for an accused in the 1975 killing of Bangladesh’s founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman sparking protest violence in the streets and the premises of a court in old Dhaka, the police and witnesses said. The lawyer, Habibur Rahman Mondol (45) was on his way to a court when gunmen stopped his motor cycle in a crowded lane in Dhaka and shot him twice before escaping.
