DERA BASSI, Aug 9 — Toxic effluents flowing in the Sukhna choe, which falls in the Ghaggar river, is playing havoc with the lives of villagers residing along the banks of the river downstream.

CHANDIGARH, Aug 9 — Mr Inderjeet Singh, Joint Director, Local Funds and Accounts, Punjab, is missing since Saturday. According to his son, Harvinder Singh, his 53-year-old father left for Kharar to collect rent from their tenants.

59 MC employees transferred
CHANDIGARH, Aug 9 — The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh has transferred 59 employees of the Engineering Wing, who had been handling “sensitive” posts for the past over three years.
