Gurdwara head excommunicated
NANDED, June 1 (PTI) — The “Panj piare” (the five high priests) of Takht Sachkhand Gurdwara today declared gurdwara board president Sardar Sher Singh Fouji as tankhaiya from the community for three days following his remarks over their decision against donating land to Nanded Medical College. A few days back the Gurdwara Board had taken a decision to donate a piece of land to the college. However, the high priests put their foot down against the decision. The board president had issued a statement to the local press that priests should not interfere in the board’s decision. The five high priests held a meeting this morning at the takht sahib residence of chief Jathedar Baba Kulwant Singh and summoned Fouji before them, where he acknowledged to have made such a statement.
