3 die in Tripura, curfew reimposed
AGARTALA, April 14 (UNI) —Curfew was reimposed in violence-hit West Tripura district today after tribal guerrillas killed three members of a family and injured two others. The police said here that armed militants raided the house of Pulin Debbarma (60) and killed him, his wife Nayansari Debbarma (55) and son Nirmal Debbarma (21) with sharp edged weapons.

Chandrachud report
NEW DELHI, April 14 (PTI) — Bowing to growing pressure, Home Minister L.K. Advani today indicated that the government could make public the Justice Chandrachud Committee report on betting and match-fixing. “We have no problem in making the Chandrachud Committee report public,” Mr Advani said and placed the onus on the BCCI to publish it. “The report was done at the behest of the BCCI and I do not know why they have not published it as yet,” the Home Minister told “Aaj Tak”. Speaking to reporters in Indore on Wednesday, Mr Advani had ruled out making public the report.

MLA shot
PATNA, April, 14 (UNI) — Marxist coordination committee’s sitting legislator Gurudas Chatterjee was shot dead by criminals at Deoli village in Dhanbad district today, state police Director-General K.A. Jacob said here. Mr Jacob said two motor cycle-borne criminals shot dead the MLA from point blank range. District borders have been sealed and raids have been launched to arrest the criminals. Senior administrative and police officials have rushed to the spot. Mr Chatterjee was elected to the state assembly from Nirsa in Dhanbad district. He was the lone representative of his party in the Assembly which had supported the Rabri Devi government on the floor of the House.

Naxals blast house
HYDERABAD, April 14 (PTI) — Naxalites of the banned People’s War Group (PWG) have blown up the guest house of a local temple and the residence of a TDP worker in two separate incidents in Warangal district, the police said today. It said five Naxals of Giraypalli Dalam went to Komarvelli Devasthanam guest house early today, asked temple superintendent Rajeshwar Rao to come out and blew up the building with grenades. In another incident, three armed Naxals blasted the house of TDP worker C. Narasimha Reddy at Moranchapalli village yesterday.

  4 die in blast
BANGALORE, April 14 (UNI) — Four persons, including three women, were killed and 18 others injured in a cracker explosion at Byrabudi village in Hassan district of Karnataka last night. Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order) Vijay Sasanur said the roof and the wall of the building, where the crackers had been stored, was damaged in the explosion.
