Ex-MLA convicted
in heroin case
NEW DELHI,
April 11 (UNI) A former MLA of the Uttar Pradesh
Assembly has recently been convicted for possessing
heroin by a designated CBI court and sent to jail. The
court found Nasir Ali guilty and sentenced him to undergo
imprisonment for two years with a fine of Rs 5,000. CBI
sources said the bureau had filed a case against him for
possessing 19.5 kg heroin under Section 14 of the DD Act
and Section 9 of the Opium Act.

NEW DELHI,
April 11 (PTI) Samajwadi Party President Mulayam
Singh Yadav today dissolved the partys Bihar and
West Bengal units with immediate effect on account of
their inactiveness. The announcement was made
by party General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav who said
former Bihar legislator Radha Kant Yadav had been
appointed the new President of the state unit.

MUMBAI,
April 11 (PTI) Investigations into the alleged
murder of actress Priya Rajvansh would be handed over to
the CID, Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Mainkrao
Thakre announced in the legislative council today.
Replying to a notice vide Rule number 93 moved by
Vynkappa Patki (JD-S) and others, Mr Thakre said the CID
would also probe the failure of investigating officials
to register a case of murder initially and the need for
two post-mortems on the body.
